Within Victoria:

In Victoria, as at January 1st 2012, the following items are "Prohibited", as per the Victorian Control of Weapons Act;

Swords (steel bladed)
Daggers (double edged knives)
Crossbows

** Please note that this is NOT a complete list of Prohibited weapons in Victoria, simply a list of items that we sell that require an exemption to purchase.

Due to Victorian Control of Weapons Act 1990, we cannot ship prohibited items to a Victorian address, unless you have an exemption. Details on the law, and how to obtain an exemption, can be found at: http://www.police.vic.gov.au/content.asp?Document_ID=25574

Once you have an exemption or weapons permit, we will need you to scan your membership card or certificate, as well as a current Victorian drivers license and then send them by email to info@globalgear.com.au with your phone number, so we can send your item quickly.

A fax of this information will not be accepted as the quality is often not good enough for our records.

If you are unsure as to your legal position regarding the ownership of the items you wish to purchase, please contact Police Licensing Services Division on 1300 651 645. They will be able to explain what form of permit or exemption is required for legal ownership of the item(s) in question.

Global Gear is committed to remaining fully informed of and compliant with any changes in laws affecting the sale and ownership of our collectible items. The wording of "As State laws change regularly, it is impossible for us to give exact information regarding the legal status of items in every State of Australia" can give off the impression that the company is passing off our responsibility to stay up to date and be accountable for following the relevant laws pertaining to the sale of restricted items. We will be adjusting this accordingly to instead act as a recommendation of government run resources, for which customers can use to gather additional information from trusted sources for specific queries or concerns that we may be unable to answer.
